The grand tour from Casablanca is an all-encompassing journey across Morocco. Throughout the journey, you’ll explore Morocco from north to east and from south to west. Traveling from Casa, the tour goes to Rabat and the Blue City Chefchaouen before heading to the heart of Morocco: Fez and Meknes. After that, the tour goes south to the Sahara region before reaching the Red City Marrakech. Then the, journey returns to Casablanca after visiting the coastal cities of Morocco, namely Essaouira and el Jadida.

Grand tour from Casablanca, Itinerary:

DAY 1: ARRIVAL TRANSFER TO YOUR HOTEL

The activities of the first day of the trip are optional, the tour can start immediately after we meet up. That been said, the 15-day grand tour from Casablanca starts after we pick you up from the airport. We will go to your accommodation where you may take some rest and prepare for the next day. You may enjoy taking a walk across the corniche of Ain Sbaa in Casablanca to explore the beauty of Casablanca’s coasts and architecture. Night in a friendly hotel.

 

DAY 2: CASABLANCA – RABAT – CHEFCHAOUEN

After a hearty Moroccan breakfast (if you like to try Marocain cuisine in the Morning), the tour starts. We will go to Hassan II Mosque, which is one of the most sophisticated religious buildings in the world. Located near at the edge of the coast, Hassan II Mosque is truly a wonderful giant architectural landmark.

Afterward, we will travel to the capital city, Rabat. At Rabat, we will enjoy some lunch in a fancy eatery. After that, we will explore the landmarks of Rabat, starting from Hassan Tower and the Mausoleum of the Sultans Mohamed V and his son Hassan II (the two being the grandfather and father of the current King of Morocco). We will visit the Andalusi garden and the Kasbah of Udayas, both of which are respectively botanical and architectural masterpieces from the 11th century.

Finally, the tour will take us to the north of Morocco to visit the Blue Pearl Chefchaouen. We will travel across the Rif Mountains to Chefchaouen. Once we reach, we will settle in a cozy hotel and relax for the rest of the day. 

DAY 3: EXPLORING CHEFCHAOUEN

This day is dedicated to exploring Chefchaouen. With a local guide, we will explore the hidden gems of Chefchaouen. We will go to the Medina to explore the markets. After that, we will explore the exhibitions of an ethnographic museum.

We will spend some time sightseeing before we head to lovely restaurant for a taste of traditional Moroccan tagine.

Chefchaouen is an easy-going town that has a cool ambiance, especially since the blue color that dominates in the city gives it a chill vibe. At night, we will go back to the cozy hotel.

DAY 3: CHEFCHAOUEN – VOLUBILIS – MEKNES – FEZ

In the morning, we will explore Chefchaouen even more. After that, we will head to UNESCO World Heritage Site and Roman ruins of Volubilis. We will explore the remains of the Roman Empire before we head to the imperial city Meknes.

Meknes is one of the largest cities in Morocco and it’s an important historical city. After we explore the landmarks of Meknes, namely the Royal Kasbah, Bab Mansour Gate, and Sahrij Swani pool, we will travel to Fez. Once in Fez, we will book in a traditional riad and relax for the night.

DAY 4: FEZ SIGTHSEEING

After breakfast, we will go out to the medieval city of Fez to explore the historical landmarks.  We will explore places like Madrasa EL Bouinania, Al Quaraoiwiyin mosque and university, The South Tower, Nejjarine Square, the Royal Palace, Tanners, Jewish quarter and more. The latter landmarks are considered World Heritage by the UNESCO. Al Quaraoiwiyin mosque and university for example has fascinating history, as the first university in history.

We will enjoy walking around the maze-like streets of the medina; we can do some shopping in Fez while in the medina. At night, we can go to the modern parts of Fez to dine before we go back to the riad for the night.

DAY 5: FEZ – IFRAN – AZROU – MIDELT – ZIZ VALLEY – MERZOUGA

We begin the journey of the day tour from Fez to the Sahara and Marrakech early in the morning, around 8 am. After we pick you up from your accommodation, we leave Fez and head south towards the Desert Region. But before we reach our far destination, we will enjoy the amazing spots along the way.

The first highlights of the journey are in Ifrane and Azrou, less than 100km from Fez. These two Atlas towns are known for their clean environment and rich forests. We will spend some time in the cedar forests where the Barbray monkeys reside before we leave further to the southeast.

Our next stop will be the Apple City of Morocco, Midelt. At Midelt, we will have a nice traditional lunch before we travel once more. We will go on a journey across the heights of Tizi N’Talghamt and through Ziz Valley to the town Erfoud. After that, we will end our journey in Merzouga, where we will relax in a cozy hotel.

DAY 6: MERZOUGA AREA EXPLORATION – CAMEL TREK – CAMPFIRE

Also in this grand tour from Casablanca, we will have a Sahara Desert Journey which start in the morning by exploring Erg Chebbi Dunes. We will ride on the back of camels across the seemingly infinite dunes. Unlike what most people think, the desert isn’t just a deserted place where there’s only sand; It’s actually a rich place that has many intricacies, fun activities, and biodiversity. Moreover, the culture of the desert inhabitants is also fascinating, namely the people of Khamlia who have a long tradition of Gnawa spiritual music that is used for exorcism and trance.

We will head to the desert camps of Erg Chebbi Dunes where we will spend a transcendental night in the Sahara with the nomads. We will spend the night dancing to spiritual desert music and stargazing.

 

DAY 7: MERZOUGA – TODRA GORGE – DADES VALLEY

When the sun rises across dunes, we wake up to witness the beauty of the morning colors before we head back to the hotel. After a shower, we will go on a journey to the huge oasis town, Tinghir. After that, we will head to the majestic Toudra Gorges: the highest canyons in Morocco. We will take some time to explore the landscapes, try local cuisine, and climbing if you’re the adventurous type.

After we leave Toudra Gorges, we will head to Dades Valley, which is one of the most beautiful geologies in Morocco; there we will spend the rest of the day in an elegant hotel.

 

DAY 8:   DADES VALLEY – SKOURA OASIS – KASBAH AMERIDIL – OUARZAZATE- KASBAH TAOURIRT

On your final day travel through the beautiful Valley of the Roses and Skoura Oasis. After stopping at the town of Roses, Kelaat Mgouna, we might go to a shop to purchase cosmetic products that are rose-based.  

Continuing our grand tour to Skoura Oasis, we will have a bird’s eye view from a high place before we visit the Ksbah of Ameridil, which a Berber landmarks. The tour continues to Ouarzazate, the Hollywood of Morocco. The geography of the place and the old architecture attracts movie producers from all over the world to film there. We can visit the studios where The Mummy and Gladiator were filmed.

After that, we go to the Kasbah of Taourirt, which is a place that you might’ve seen in Sheltering Sky or Price of Persia. Overnight stay in a friendly hotel.

DAY 9 : AIT BEN HADDOU – TIZIN’TICHKA –

Early in the morning after having a tasty breakfast, we will leave Ouarzazate. We will travel to Marrakech. But before that, we will go to the UNESCO World Heritage Site: Ait Benhaddou to explore its architecture that also attracts movie makers.

Then, traveling across the High Atlas road, Tizi N’Tichka, we will reach our final destination and the fourth imperial city, Marrakech the Red City. 

 

DAY 10: SIGTHSEEING IN MARRAKECH

The 10th day marks the end of the tour. But before we finish, we will explore the landmarks of Marrakech. We will go on a guided tour to the Bahia palace, saadian Tombs, and Koutoubia mosque. After that, we will explore the charming Jemaa el-Fna Square and the Souks. Then, we will end our guided tour by visiting the luscious Majorel gardens.

Marrakech is a city with a thousand faces. There’s a lot to do in there. From historical landmarks to a vibrant nightlife, Marrakech offers a wholesome package of culture and entertainment, not to mention the unmatched cuisine choices.

DAY 11: MARRAKECH FREE DAY, VISITING A HAMMAM

During this day, you may go out to the medina to do some shopping; that’s highly recommended. After that, you should definitely visit a Hammam. A few activities are better than visiting a traditional Moroccan hammam for relaxation and putting-off stress. Moroccans say “entering a Hammam is nothing like going out from it”; that’s because you’re a different person when you visit a Hammam.     


DAY 12: MARRAKECH – ESSAOUIRA

The trip to Essaouira starts typically at 8 am after we meet up and take you from your accommodation. Our destination is located a few hours away from Marrakech. We will travel across the Sous region. After stopping at one of the argan cooperative, where we can buy some skin-care products made from argan oil, we will continue our trip to Essaouira.  Once in Essouira, we might want to go to the seaside to fell the breeze and relax. Overnight stay in hotel or a traditional riad.

DAY 13: EXPLORING ESSAOUIRA WITH A LOCAL GUIDE

Essaouira is undoubtedly a city that has a unique vibe; that’s because it’s is a rich city. Essaouira is a cultural hub that showcases the diversity of the civilizations of North Africa and southwest Europe. 

We can take a camel trekking tour across the beaches before we eat something near the coasts. After that, we can go on a guided tour across the ancient ramparts and old buildings of the medina. The architecture of Essouira merges very well Portuguese, Moroccan, and Jewish styles, making the buildings from the 17th and 18th century stand up as fascinating to people who love architecture.

We can have a late lunch at a nice restaurant that serves fresh seafood.

We can spend a little bit more relaxing or exploring somewhere cool in Essaouira, street artists and painters might offer some beautiful entertainment. Later in the afternoon, we will relax in a nice coffee place in the harbor. At night, we will go to the medina to stay in a nice riad.

DAY 14: ESSAOUIRA – SAFI – OUALIDIA – EL JADIDA – CASABLANCA

During this day, we will travel from Essouira across the coastal road, visiting some unforgettable places. We will stop by Safi, the city with the world record of the biggest tagine in the world. After that, we will stop at Oualidia to taste some oysters at the oyster capital of Morocco. After lunch at Oualidia, we will travel to el Jadida (also known as Mazagan). El Jadida is a wonderful city that looks similar to Essaouira with its Portuguese/Moroccan architecture. Later in the evening, we will settle in Casablanca.

DAY 15: CASABLANCA – last day of the grand tour from Casablanca

The 15th day of the tour marks its end. We will have a final goodbye after we take you to the airport in case you’re leaving the country.
